A dual-mode golf cart seat cover is two systems in one seat: a water-cooling layer that carries heat away from the seating surface, and a graphene heating layer that puts warmth back into it. It runs on 24 V from the cart, and it exists because a bench seat is the worst place on a golf course in bad weather - scorching in July, and cold enough to cut a round short in December.

The important part for a buyer is that these are separable decisions. You can buy the cover on its own, or the cover with the cooling box that makes the cooling mode work. This article explains how the two modes fit together, what has to be confirmed before production, and the installation points that matter on a vehicle.

Two Problems, One Seat

A golf cart bench seat is a black vinyl slab sitting in direct sun. By mid-morning it is hot enough that you feel it through your trousers, and the seat has no way to give that heat anywhere to go. In winter the same slab is cold and stays cold, because nothing in the cart warms it.

The usual answers miss something. A towel helps until it warms up. A cushion adds padding but no temperature control. A portable fan moves air but does not cool the surface you are actually sitting on.

The useful idea here is direction. A seat can either take heat out of you or put heat into you - but only if it has a layer that can do both. That is what makes this cover a dual-mode product rather than two separate accessories.

Two Products in One Name

The clearest way to understand the range is the comparison the product artwork makes, because it splits the offer in two.

Configuration What it is Who it suits
Basic Seat Cover The cover itself - a covering for the bench seat Buyers who want protection and a base for later, or who already have a cooling method
Dual-Mode Seat System The cover plus the external cooling box and the two tubes Buyers who want both water cooling and graphene heating working

Neither is a stripped version of the other. The cover-only configuration is a legitimate purchase - a waterproof cover that fits the bench properly is worth having on its own. What matters is that the scope is written down, because the difference between the two is a cooling box and the water circuit that connects it.

Two configurations compared: a basic seat cover, and a dual-mode seat system with water cooling and graphene heating
Figure 2 — Two configurations: the cover on its own, or the dual-mode system with the cooling box.

How the Dual-Mode System Works

The system has three visible parts: the bench-seat cover, the external cooling box, and two transparent tubes that connect them. The footer of the system diagram states the operating basis plainly - 24V, water cooling, graphene heating.

Cooling works through a water circuit. Water travels from the cooling box, through the cover, and back. The internal cooling layer is polyurethane (PU), and because the water is cooler than the seating surface, heat moves out of the seat and into the water, which carries it back to the box.

Heating works through a separate layer. The graphene heating layer is specified for this model, and it is switched from a panel on the cover. Graphene is used here for the same reason it is used in our other heating products: it spreads warmth across an area rather than concentrating it in a line, which is the property that matters when the surface you are warming is a bench. That principle is set out in what a far-infrared heating film is and how it works and in the comparison between resistance wire and graphene heating.

Power comes in through a 24 V interface at the edge of the cover, next to the power button. The system is designed around the cart's 24 V supply; the installation details are covered further down, and they matter more than the headline voltage.

The Cover: Front, Reverse and Fit

The cover is built with two faces, and the difference is deliberate.

The top surface is smooth. That is the face you sit on, and it is the one the waterproof design applies to - the artwork shows water beading on it rather than soaking in, which is what makes the cover usable in rain and practical to wipe down after a round.

The reverse is textured and carries the buckle straps. A textured reverse grips the bench instead of sliding across it, and the straps are what stop the cover migrating when someone gets in and out. The edge is elasticated, so the cover pulls over the bench rather than sitting on top of it.

Three details on the cover are worth knowing by name, because they are the parts that get handled: dual water ports where the two tubes connect, a power interface that combines the button and the 24 V socket, and the buckle straps on the reverse.

What Fits, and What You Specify

The cover is made to your bench, not to a fixed size. The size sheet is explicit about this: custom length and custom depth, and the instruction is to send your bench-seat measurements.

Category What can be set
Size Custom length and custom depth, to your measurements
Colour Reference range shows several colourways
Logo Your branding on the cover
Packaging Carton configuration for retail or distributor programmes
Configuration Cover only, or the full dual-mode system

Confirm bench dimensions before production. This is the single point where a project most often goes wrong: a cover cut to the wrong depth either will not pull over the bench or will not stay put. Measure the bench, not the cushion that sits on it, and put the numbers in the order specification.

Note that we do not publish a compatibility list of cart brands or models. A cover that is cut to your measurements fits the bench those measurements describe - that is a more reliable statement than a model list, and it avoids the situation where a cart is revised and a published list becomes wrong.

Before You Install

A seat cover is a vehicle accessory, and the installation is where safety is decided. Three points matter.

Never adjust the controls while the cart is moving. The power button is on the cover, within reach of the driver. Set the mode before you set off, and change it when the cart is stopped.

The 24 V connection is a project decision, not a plug-and-play one. The system draws from the cart's electrical supply, and how it is connected - where it is tapped in, how it is fused, and whether the cart's existing installation can carry it - depends on the cart. Installation method and electrical compatibility are confirmed per project and per vehicle. We do not publish a universal wiring instruction, and any supplier who does is describing one cart rather than yours.

Route the tubes and secure the box. The cooling box is an external unit that sits on the floorboard, and the two tubes run between it and the cover. Both need to be positioned clear of anything that moves or gets stepped on, and the box needs to be secured so it cannot shift or tip while the cart is in motion.

One further note on the cooling side. The cooling box circulates water, and water and vehicle electrics do not belong in the same place by accident - which is another reason the installation is specified for the cart rather than assumed.

Figures We Confirm, Not Guess

A short list of things this page deliberately does not state, and why:

  • Temperature - how warm the heating layer runs, or how much cooler the cooling side makes the seat. Neither is published here; both depend on the layer specification, the ambient temperature and how long the system has been running.
  • Heat settings - the number of steps and what each one is worth.
  • Wattage and current draw - the system is a 24 V design, and that is the voltage figure we publish. Power draw depends on the final layer specification and is confirmed per project.
  • Dimensions - the cover is cut to your measurements, so there is no standard size to quote.
  • Load rating, and the weight of the cover and box.
  • Certification status, and the electrical compliance position.

We would rather give you a cover cut to your bench and a written specification than a headline number that will not survive a buyer's compliance review. If any figure above is a hard requirement for your programme, raise it at the design stage and it becomes a defined, testable specification.

Working with SHEERFOND

Dongguan Sheerfond New Material Co., Ltd. develops and manufactures far-infrared and graphene heating materials, and designs the thermal systems built around them - in both directions. Our low-voltage heating range covers 3.7 V, 5 V, 12 V, 24 V and 36 V architectures, and our cooling programmes apply the same principle in reverse. A dual-mode seat cover sits at the meeting point of both.

Products are manufactured against project specifications with batch inspection records rather than from a fixed catalogue.

Request a Quotation

Send us your bench-seat measurements, whether you need the cover alone or the full dual-mode system, your colourway and branding requirements, your packaging requirements, and your target quantity. If you know which cart the cover is going on, tell us - it helps us advise on the 24 V installation.

Price indication: the cover is quoted per project, because size, configuration and colourway all move the number. Final pricing follows your confirmed specification, order quantity and destination market.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cool and heat at the same time?

No. The two modes are alternatives - you choose cooling or heating depending on the season, which is why the artwork calls it dual-mode rather than dual-function.

Can I buy just the cover?

Yes. The cover-only configuration is a real product: a waterproof, buckle-fitted cover for the bench seat. The cooling box and tubes are what turn it into the full system.

What voltage does it run on?

It is a 24 V system, and the cover has a 24 V interface. How it connects to a particular cart is confirmed per project.

Will it fit my cart?

The cover is cut to the measurements you send us. That is why we ask for bench-seat measurements rather than quoting a model list.

Is it waterproof?

The cover is designed as a waterproof seat cover, and the artwork shows water beading on the surface rather than soaking in. We do not publish an ingress-protection rating for it, because that is a certification term with its own testing.

What should I measure?

The bench seat itself - length and depth. The size sheet asks for exactly those two, and the dimensions are confirmed before production.
